Team India could not play for 3 days in the Sydney Test… Bumrah’s 32 wickets were in vain, Australia won the series

The Indian team faced a humiliating defeat against Australia in the last match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. On the third day of the Sydney Test, the host team was given a target of 162 runs to win. Australia got it easily losing 4 wickets. By winning the last match of the 5-match Test series, Australia regained possession of the Border Gavaskar Trophy after a decade. With a 3-1 win, Kangaroos skipper Pat Cummins did what he said he would before the series began. After this defeat, India’s hopes of reaching the final of the World Test Championship have also ended.

Australia has won the trophy again after facing consecutive defeats since 2014. The last four Border Gavaskar trophies were named after the Indian team. Team India won the series in 2016 while playing at home ground. After this, Border won the series in Australia in 2018 and 2020 and won the Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian team also won the series played in India in 2022.

Finish the game in 3 days
The Indian team could not last even three days in the Sydney Test against Australia. Batting first, India scored 185 runs in the first innings and bowled out Australia for 181 runs to take a 4-run lead. Team India had a chance to win the match by making a big score, but the entire team collapsed for only 157 runs in the second innings. The hosts had almost 3 days to chase the target of 162 runs. Almost the whole of the third day’s play was left and the match was to be played for two more days after that.

Bumrah’s 32 wickets wasted
Indian team’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah gave his all in the Border Gavaskar Trophy and created a new record with 32 wickets but it all went in vain. Australia has given a big blow by winning the 5-match series against India 3-1. Bishan Singh Bedi’s record of 31 wickets while playing a series in Australia was broken in this series but Jasprit Bumrah will never like to remember it as these wickets did not help the team win.
