On the invitation of Team Punjabi Bathinda, around 80 teachers from all over Punjab, who are striving for the propagation of mother tongue, participated in a one-day state level ‘Mother-Boli Parivar Milne’ held at the Teachers’ Home here. This meeting was presided over by District Education Officer (SEC) Shiv Pal Goyal and Chairman of Improvement Trust Bathinda Jatinder Singh Bhalla attended as the chief guest. Dr. as the main speaker in the family meeting. Paramjit Singh Dhingra former director Punjab University Chandigarh linked the importance of mother tongue with linguistics and told the teachers that a lot of work is going to be done on Punjabi mother tongue. The main speaker Prof. Kamaljit Singh Education Department Punjabi University Regional Center Bathinda said that the teacher should do justice to the students by giving proper guidance to the teaching profession. Jagtar Singh Sokhi, famous painter and writer, said that there are many subjects of Punjabi mother tongue, which hardworking teachers need to work on. Praveen Kaur Tiwana on behalf of Team Punjabi Bathinda welcomed the guests and audience. Gurmeet Singh Bajwa Lecturer Chemistry Sassus Kalanour, Surinder Mohan Lecturer Gurdaspur, Rajveer Kaur Gurdaspur, Kuldeep Singh Chotian Muktsar, Rang Harjinder Singh Faridkot also shared ideas with the audience. State SRP Gurpreet Rupra explained about the projects related to the propagation of mother tongue Punjabi going on at the government level. Khushwant Singh Bargari, president of People’s Forum Bargari, said that the sincere parties who sit together regarding the mother tongue Punjabi should continue to make such efforts in the future.
