The year of 2009 was about to leave. On 25 December 2009, a movie which created a panic at the box office. This was the first Bollywood movie to do 200 crores business inside India. The name of the film was: 3 Idiots. This film is still the first choice of every generation. The film was based on engineering college. In the movie, Aamir Khan, R.K. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani and Oman Vaidya were seen in the lead roles. The film was directed by Rajkumar Hirani while the produce was done by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Rajkumar Hirani had previously directed the blockbuster film like Munna Bhai MBBS and Laga Munna Bhai.
The film was written by Amizat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The music was given by Shantanu Moitra. A total of 7 songs were kept in the film. The budget of the film was kept at Rs 77 crore. The film had a collection of World Wide 350 crores. It is considered to be an all -time blockbuster film of Hindi cinema. Three Idiots was the highest -grossing film of 2009.
The title of the film was suggested by Aamir Khan. Actually Rajkumar Hirani wanted to keep the title ‘Idiots’ of the film but this Deepak Shivdasani was already registered. The producers requested him to leave the ‘title’ several times but he was not ready. Were asking for a huge amount of it. In such a situation, Aamir Khan suggested to keep the title ‘3 Idiots’ of the movie. Although later Shivdasani offered to give Idiots title, the film was named 3 Idiots on Aamir’s suggestion. This name became a brand.
In an interview, Aamir Khan had told, ‘Rajkumar Hirani wrote a very heroism in the film’s draft in a very heroism manner. The character of Rancho was an over confident in the original script. He used to correct all the things. He could handle every Siyche. I told Raju that this character is becoming very smart. Everything is doing right. Its attitude is that I will show everyone. I did not like this attitude. I do not let anyone down, so the character was changed, the script was changed. Then that character was made Curius. He wants to know the answer to every question innocence.
The character of Ranchs is also said to be inspired by Ladakh environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk hails from Fiyang village of Leh and is an IITian. The story of 3 Idiots movie is very similar to the school being run by Wangchuk’s organization. On the question of Amitabh Bachchan on the set of Kaun Banega Crorepati, he said, ‘As far as Aamir Khan’s Paisuk Wangdu character is affected by me, I will not deny it. The story of the film is based on me, I do not believe that. I do not even want people to recognize someone’s work only when it is associated with a film. If this is not, then I am not proud, if it is not so, I do not regret it.
Aamir Khan appeared in ‘3 Idiots’, R.K. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi’s trio was also seen earlier in the 2006 film Rang De Basanti. Initially, the character of Rancho was offered to Shah Rukh Khan but he refused. The film was also shot in reverse. The climax of the film was first shot, then the college scenes were shot.
The most interesting fact of the film is that Aamir Khan lost 8 kg for this film. Earlier, his Ghajni film came. Aamir Khan was 44 years old at that time but he surprised everyone by playing the role of an engineering student. Boman Irani, who played the virus, was just 6 years older than him. Aamir Khan did not stand upright in a single frame throughout the film. He always kept doing something action. He did this so that he looks young. Could entice the new generation. Seeing his nephew, he adopted this strategy.
