State president of BKU Ekta (Ugrahan) Joginder Singh Ugrahan said that the central government is looking for a way to implement the withdrawn agricultural laws. Talking to the media here, Mr. Ugrahan said that he has personally received information that the central government has sent a draft in this regard to the states in November. In this, there are indications of the government withdrawing from government procurement of crops. The draft plans to amend the APMC Act so that farmers’ crops can be picked from the fields by shifting silos to market yards. In such a situation, the grain markets will be destroyed and the government procurement system will end. Apart from this, the government has planned to implement a price insurance scheme in place of the minimum support price. The farmer leader said that his organization has asked for its complete draft and after reviewing it, a decision will be taken about the struggle.
