America bomb cyclone- This week a powerful cyclone ‘bomb’ (bomb cyclone) has hit America, which is one of the most dangerous cyclones to hit the country in the last 10 years. It created such havoc in America that the whole country is in panic. Cyclone ‘Bomb’ also witnessed strong winds, heavy rain and blizzard. Not only this, there have been many incidents of power cuts and falling trees in the area due to the storm.
Millions of homes lost power and at least two people died. According to news agency Xinhua, the storm quickly turned into a ‘bomb’ cyclone on Tuesday. It created catastrophic conditions in parts of Washington state, Oregon and California.
The US National Weather Service (NWS) reported wind gusts of 158 km/h on the Oregon coast and 124 km/h at Mount Rainier in Washington state. The storm killed at least two people and left nearly 600,000 homes without power in Washington state.
As of Friday evening, more than 260,000 people in Washington state and Oregon and more than 92,000 in California remained without power. Some areas may receive 20 to 30 cm of rain. NW has issued a flash flood warning for Oregon through the evening.
Traffic was badly damaged in the entire area. A train in Washington state collided with a fallen tree north of Seattle. However, it is a matter of relief that none of the 48 passengers were injured. Due to the storm, there was heavy snowfall in the higher areas. A blizzard warning was issued for most of Washington state’s Cascade Range. The northern Sierra Nevada and Oregon Cascades are also expected to receive 30 to 61 cm of snow.
Climate scientists have warned that the storm has exposed California’s rapidly growing weather patterns. The National Weather Service has urged residents of affected areas to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Atmospheric conditions are expected to persist through Saturday morning, with another storm system likely to develop over the weekend.
