According to the FBI, it is not yet clear whether the blast was an act of terrorism or not. However, so far no concrete link has been found between the New Orleans truck attack on New Year’s Day and the cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas later that day. 15 people were killed in the New Orleans truck attack. Along with this, seven people were slightly injured in the cyber truck explosion. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, citing a Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s report, police said Levelsberger committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth.

Livelsberger was inside the vehicle when a gasoline canister and a large firework mortar exploded in the truck bed, police said. Police previously said at a press conference that they believe the man found in the truck was Livelsberger. Because the body was badly burned, investigators were awaiting confirmation from DNA evidence and medical records.
Sheriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said Livelsberger shot himself just before detonating the explosives in the vehicle. A handgun was found at his feet. It was one of two semi-automatic handguns found in the Cybertruck. Both were legally purchased by Livelsberger on 30 December. Police also found military identification cards, passports, an iPhone and credit cards in the truck.
