The medical board of PGI will investigate the doctor’s negligence

The medical board of PGI Chandigarh will probe the alleged negligence of a doctor in Kotakpura on the orders of the local consumer commission. According to information, a person named Dalip Singh had complained to the Consumer Commission that he had undergone eye treatment from Dr. Pankaj Kataria of Kotakpura and both his eyes were damaged. Later he had to be admitted to PGI where one eye was cured while the other eye was damaged. The consumer, Dalip Singh, accused the doctor of negligence and demanded compensation. Consumer Commission president Rakesh Kumar and member Parampal Kaur have directed the director of PGI to constitute a medical board to investigate whether Dr Pankaj Kataria was negligent or negligent during treatment. The Consumer Commission has directed to submit the report of this entire matter before the Commission by January 21. The Consumer Commission said that it is necessary to seek the medical opinion of expert doctors before settling the complaint. Therefore, PGI should investigate the matter and submit a report. Earlier, the commission ordered a doctor of Kotakpura to pay one and a half lakh rupees as compensation to the consumer on charges of alleged negligence.
