Weather Update: The first week of December is about to pass and the country, including Delhi-NCR, has not yet received severe cold. The temperature remains 3-5 degrees above normal. Along with this, the life of people has become difficult due to pollution in the capital of the country. In the plains of North India, mornings and nights are very cold. Except for some areas of Punjab and Haryana, there is not much fog at present. The Meteorological Department said that 140 mm of rain was recorded in Rayalaseema and 80 mm in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department said that Delhi NCR as well as the plains of North India may experience severe cold soon. A new Western Disturbance is likely to form over western parts of Rajasthan on December 7 and hilly areas on December 8, the Met Department said. Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and heavy snowfall in the surrounding areas. The cold level may increase in the plains. It will also affect Punjab, Haryana. Therefore, there is a possibility of rain in both the states in the next few days.
The Met department said that the minimum temperature in various parts of the country, including Delhi NCR, is still three to five degrees Celsius above normal. Minimum temperatures remained above normal in several parts of the country including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Goa. The Meteorological Department said that after December 7 to 8, a decline can be recorded. The minimum temperature in parts of Assam and Meghalaya was -3 to -1 degree Celsius below normal, the Meteorological Department said. In Hisar, Haryana, the lowest temperature of the country was recorded at 9.9 degrees Celsius today.
The Meteorological Department said that there is no warning of heavy rainfall in the country today, although light rain is expected in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Light rain may occur over interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep and some parts of Madhya Pradesh. Pradesh, while some parts of Punjab and Haryana are on dense fog alert on 7th and 8th.
The Meteorological Department said that due to the constantly changing weather system, Delhi will still have to wait for cold weather. There is a possibility of heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh due to western disturbance from December 8. However, the impact will be minimal in Delhi NCR, but dense fog may envelop the capital and surrounding areas on December 9 and 10. Also, the weather temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees.
