The growing craze of dosa and pasta
Dosa has also strengthened its position, with 23 million orders in 2024, according to Swiggy’s report. Dosa has become a favorite among people of all age groups due to its simplicity and healthy properties. Also, a consumer from Bengaluru spent Rs 49,900 on pasta alone. He enjoyed 55 alfredo recipes, 40 mac and cheese and 30 spaghetti. This pasta craze shows that Indians are now equally fond of global cuisine.
Diner dominated
Diners dominated in 2024, registering 215 million orders. That’s 29% more than lunch orders. This trend shows that the importance of eating with family and friends at dinner time still remains. 2.5 million masala dosas were eaten in Bengaluru, while Delhi, Chandigarh and Kolkata stayed true to their traditional dishes – chhole, aloo parantha and kachori. These figures confirm that regional cuisine is still a hallmark of Indian cuisine.
Chicken Roll: The most favorite snack
Chicken roll became India’s most favorite snack in 2024, ordered 2.48 million times. This delicious snack remains the first choice of people due to its easy availability and rich taste. This was followed by Chicken Momos (1.63 million orders) and Potato Fries (1.3 million orders). Potato fries, which were usually considered a side dish, are now gaining popularity as a staple snack.
Midnight Cravings’ Chicken Burger Rejuvenation
The most ordered midnight snack between 12 and 2 am was the chicken burger, with 1.84 million orders. This burger has become the easiest and tastiest option for late night hunger pangs, especially among the youth and working people. Along with this, Chicken Biryani also maintained its popularity to be a 24/7 favourite. It shows that biryani is not just a food, but an experience, perfect for every occasion and every mood.
