Three accused arrested in the case of ex-army robbery

Mohali police have arrested three accused with illegal weapons while solving the case of robbing an ex-serviceman. The accused have been identified as Hemjinder Singh resident of Seke village (Malerkotla), Lovepreet Singh resident of Thara village (Faridkot) and Harike Kalan resident of Lavi village (Sri Muktsar Sahib). Mohali DSP (City-2) Harsimran Singh Ball said that the Verna car used in the incident, the documents stolen from the complainant and 3 indigenous illegal pistols have been recovered from the accused. He said that the accused were arrested by the team of Suneta police post near village Raipur Kalan bus stand. According to DSP Ball, Ashkaranjit Singh, a resident of village Kalla (Ambala), had told the police in a complaint that he was returning from Shere-Punjab Dhaba Sector-104 after eating. On the way, the accused stopped him by driving his Varna vehicle. Meanwhile, the accused made him sit in their car after threatening him with a pistol and transferred 40 thousand rupees to his account through Google Pay. By threatening the victim, 50 thousand rupees were deposited in an account from one of his relatives. Investigating officer ASI Balveer Singh Ghuman said that a case has been registered against the accused in Sohana police station and the investigation has started.
