Deepseek Ai Ban: Many countries have taken strict action on China’s fast growing Artificial Intelligence (AI) company Deepseek AI. Australia, Italy and Taiwan have banned this platform. Deepseek AI, which was considered more popular than the chatgpt of Openai, has now been banned in these countries due to security concerns.
Why was the ban imposed?
Australia has recently ordered Deepseek AI to be removed from all government systems and devices. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said that the investigation by national intelligence agencies found that Deepseek AI could pose a serious threat to security. Although this ban is not applicable to individual devices, the government has advised citizens to be vigilant about online data security.
Italy also imposed a ban
Italy’s privacy Regulatory Authority has blocked its services by questioning the data security standards of Deepseek AI. The government is worried that this platform can incorrectly collect the personal information of users.
At the same time, Ireland’s Data Protection Commission has also demanded Deepsek to clarify its data security policies. Apart from this, the Taiwan government has completely banned the use of Deepseek AI in the public sector. The Ministry of Digital Affairs feared that this platform can become a threat to cross-border data leaks and cyber security. The ban has been implemented on government offices, public schools, government companies and important infrastructure.
Why are the questions arising on Deepseek AI?
Deepseek AI was launched in China 20 months ago and its popularity increased rapidly. It recently released its AI Chatbot, which claims to argue like humans. However, a dispute over its data privacy policies began. Deepsek says that all user data is stored on servers located in China. This increased the apprehension that this data can be assigned to Chinese intelligence agencies under China’s local laws.
Private companies are also taking strict steps
Not only governments, but private companies are also keeping distance from Deepsek AI. Many federal agencies in the US have instructed their employees not to use this app. Hundreds of companies have asked cyber security experts to block the reach of Deepseek AI.
