Two arrested for smuggling heroin

Rural police have busted an inter-state drug smuggling ring and seized 50 grams of heroin. In this operation, two persons involved in bringing drugs from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab have been arrested. Police have arrested Sadiq alias Shika from Kakka Kandyala Tarn Taran and Muradin alias Muradu from Ward No. 07 near Shani Mandir, Balachore, who currently resides in Cheema Batha Raya, Amritsar. Senior Police Captain Harkanwalpreet Singh Khakh said that after receiving specific information about heroin trafficking in Adampur area, Inspector Pushap Bali, in-charge CIA staff Jalandhar Rural led this operation. A team of CIA staff intercepted the Swift car near Nehar Puli Rest House, Adampur. During checking, the police found 50 grams of heroin hidden in the dashboard of the car. Although the accused tried to run away, the police team caught them. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act at Adampur police station. Investigation revealed that the accused used to buy heroin at low prices from Jammu and Kashmir and sell it at high prices across Punjab. With their arrest, the supply of drugs has stopped in Adampur and Bhogpur areas.
