UP Police encounter: The mastermind behind five murders in Meerut was killed in a police encounter


Naeem was accused of brutally murdering his half-brother, his wife and three daughters.

Officials said that a prime suspect in the murder case of five members of his family was killed by the UP Police in a police encounter on Saturday morning. There was a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.

In a statement, police said a team located Jameel Hussain alias Naeem on Saturday morning and an encounter ensued. According to the statement, “Naeem sustained bullet injuries and was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.”

Naeem was the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of five people at his house at Lisari Gate on January 9. Among the deceased were his step-brother Moin, his wife and their three children.

The victims had head injuries. After the murders, the police announced a reward for the capture of Naeem and his accomplice Salman. A statement issued by UP Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar said, “Investigation revealed that Naeem, who has a history of criminal activities in Delhi and Thane, was constantly changing his name and location to avoid arrest. The reason for this heinous crime was a dispute over money and property.”

Meerut District Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada said, “Naeem was located in Madina Colony on Saturday morning where a police team cordoned off the area based on intelligence reports. During the operation, Naeem opened fire on the police. In the encounter that followed the firing, Naeem was injured and taken to hospital. However, the doctors later declared him brought dead.”

TADA said Naeem was also wanted in Delhi and Maharashtra – where he is involved in murder cases. The Meerut police had formed five teams to nab him after he killed the entire family of his step-brother Moin alias Moinuddin (52), his wife Asma (45) and their daughters Afsa (8), Aziza (4) and Adiba (1). was murdered -News-Patiala
