US Deploys Satellite Jammers: After the continuously increasing tension between America and China on the political, military, and economic fronts, now the tussle between the two continues in space also. Now a new step has been taken by the US Space Force, under which jammers will be deployed in the Indo-Pacific region to disrupt Chinese satellite communications.
Through this move, the US will target China’s growing satellite network, especially its Yaogan series satellites, which are reportedly continuously monitoring the military activities of the US and its allies. The purpose of these jammers is to destroy the information coming from China’s satellite, which will reduce China’s surveillance capability.
Direct attack on China’s satellite network
China’s Yaogan series satellites, which can track even the smallest targets, such as cars, with great accuracy. This satellite has created a new security challenge for America and its allies. These satellites continuously monitor the Indo-Pacific region. It is for this reason that America considers it dangerous for its military activities. In this context, US Space Force officials had recently expressed concern over this issue in the Spacepower Conference held in Florida.
fear of electronic corrosion
According to South China Morning Post, space security experts believe that if America deploys these jammers, China will develop jammers, which could lead to an electronic warfare situation. Like Russia tried to jam Starlink satellites during the Ukraine war. Similarly, China can also deploy anti-radar missiles and drones to target America’s jammers. Not only this, China is also expanding its counter-EW capabilities, which may give rise to a new type of military competition in the future.
Planning for the future and opposition to China
Space security experts say that the increasing space rivalry between America and China will have a direct impact on their future military operations. China’s space capabilities are developing rapidly and to counter it, America will have to further increase the role of its space force.
