Punjab Legislative Assembly LoP Partap Singh Bajwa has said that the leader of Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, was already given political punishment by the people of Punjab and now Mr. Akal Only religious punishment has been received from the throne. He said that whatever decision is pronounced from Sri Akal Takht, it is accepted with reverence by the Sikh community all over the world and he will not comment on it.

He said, “For the last few years, their (Shromani Akali Dal) performance has been steadily declining, due to which people have rejected the party. They have already been given political punishment. The people were now waiting for the religious punishment… which the Akal Takht has delivered to them.”

Talking to news agency ANI, he said, “The decision of Akal Takht Sahib is followed by the Sikh community all over the world. That is the final and indisputable decision… We bow to their decision.” He said, “First there was a political decision in 2017 in which the people of Punjab, especially the Sikhs gave a mandate against the Shiromani Akali Dal, then in 2019 the people rejected the Akali Dal in the Lok Sabha elections and then in 2022 and now in 2024 the same thing happened. “

Similarly, talking about the issue of farmers and their exodus to Delhi, he said that since the Modi government came to the country, the government has not taken any decision which is for the betterment of the farmers of the country. He said, “The issues that the farmers have raised, especially the Minimum Support Scheme (MSP), is a legal right of the farmers, which has been accepted by all the governments.”

He alleged, “If we look at the season of paddy this time, there has been looting of Rs 300 per quintal in mandis across Punjab. In this way, with the connivance of the two governments, the AAP government of the state and the BJP government of the centre, the farmers have been robbed of about five and a half and 6000 crore rupees, which we oppose.” He also talked about the lack of DAP in Punjab and Haryana and said that the farmers are going to Delhi under their democratic right, but in the meantime they must take care that the general public does not suffer due to this.
