Aarti was a childhood friend Virender Sehwag married childhood friend Aarti Ahlawat on 22 April 2004. Sehwag met Aarti for the first time when he was just 7 years old, while Aarti was 5 years old. It took 14 years for a 17-year-old friendship to turn into love.

Virender Sehwag had once told that in May 2002, he had proposed Aarti in a joking tone. At the same time, Aarti considered it a real proposal and immediately said yes. Both of them dated each other for 5 years. Both of them got married in 2004.

Born on 16 December 1980, Aarti received her education from Lady Irwin Secondary School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and then did a Diploma in Computer Science from Maitreyi College, Delhi University. Sehwag and her love story continued around the year 2000 and then in 2004, both of them got married at the residence of former Finance Minister and Chairman of Delhi and District Cricket Association i.e. DDCA, Arun Jaitley.
