Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while pledging to eliminate Naxalites from the country by March 2026, said today that the sacrifice of District Reserve Guards killed by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh will not go unanswered. Shah has made this comment after the attack by Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Eight jawans of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and a civilian driver were killed in a landmine blast by Naxalites targeting a vehicle of security forces.

In a post on X, Shah said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of DRG security forces in an IED blast in Bijapur. My deepest condolences to the families of the brave soldiers. It is impossible to express this grief in words, but I can assure you that the sacrifice of our security forces will not go in vain.
