The court has sent Shahzad, accused of attacking actor Saif Ali Khan, on five-day police remand. Accused’s lawyer Sandeep Sherkhane told IANS that Shehzad "in the name of bangladesh" Trapped.
Sandeep Sherkhane said, “The argument has been presented that the investigation conducted is incomplete. Shahzad was not given notice. There is no mention of attempt to murder in Saif Ali’s statement and there is nothing related to threat either.“
Regarding the Bangladeshi citizenship of the accused, the lawyer said, “This is wrong. He has documents of living in India for many years. Police said that Shahzad has been living in the country for only six months which is wrong. He is being framed."
Regarding the Bangladeshi citizenship of the accused and the conspiracy, he said, “None of Saif Ali’s statements are such that he faces any threat from any country or anyone. After five days of remand, we will see what to do further."
The police presented the accused who attacked actor Saif Ali Khan in Bandra court on Sunday. The court sent the accused Mohammad Shahzad to police remand for five days. However, the police had asked for 14 days’ remand.
Before presenting him in the court, the police got the accused medically done at Bhabha Hospital located in Bandra area of Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of the accused has claimed that the talk of infiltration from Bangladesh is baseless. The victim is a celebrity, that is why this matter is being given so much importance.
The government lawyer in the case argued that the accused knew in which area celebrities live and there is security there, yet he entered inside. This means he had planned. Who helped him, who was supporting him, this has to be investigated. Blood sample of the accused has to be taken, there must have been blood on the body of the accused at the time of the attack. We have to confiscate that cloth so that it can be matched.
Let us tell you, the police had formed more than 35 teams to catch the accused. On January 16, Saif was attacked multiple times with a knife in his Bandra apartment. Saif, who was injured in this attack, is undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital. He also had surgery. According to doctors, his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
