The situation is such that some people have lost their lives due to their attacks, while some people are also suffering serious injuries due to dog bites. This is a very dangerous situation, it is very important for you to protect yourself from it, because if you ignore even a small scratch caused by a dog bite, the consequences can be dire.
What is the first thing to do after a dog bite?
Clean the wound immediately, washing the cut with antiseptic soap and clean water for 10-15 minutes. Apply an antiseptic to reduce the risk of infection.
In case of bleeding:
If bleeding continues, use a clean bandage to stop it.
Seek medical attention: See a doctor immediately. Even minor scratches require a medical examination. Get the rabies vaccine within 24 hours to prevent life-threatening complications. Watch for signs to watch out for after a dog bite: fever, nausea, swelling around the wound, burning, loss of appetite or fatigue.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek immediate medical attention.
What not to do
Avoid applying salt, pepper, lemon or turmeric on the wound. These home remedies can worsen the irritation.
Do not rely on hearsay or alternative treatments—consult a qualified physician immediately.
Precautions for children: If your child has been bitten by a dog, first wash the cut with soap and water for 15 minutes, then bandage the area. Now you should contact the doctor and get the first rabies vaccine. If a pet dog has bitten you and the owner says the dog has been vaccinated, you should still get a rabies shot on the doctor’s advice.
