WhatsApp banned 84 lakh accounts in India Know the reason behind this

According to the transparency report of META, 8.45 million (more than 84 lakh) accounts were banned between 1 August to 31 August. This action has been taken under Section 4 (1) (D) and Section 3A (7) of the Information Technology Act.

1.66 million accounts were immediately blocked due to serious violations. After reviewing other accounts, he was banned when he was found involved in suspicious activities.

More than 1.6 million accounts were banned by WhatsApp during monitoring themselves, which did not require the user’s complaint.

This includes sending bulk messages without permission, spamming and fraud activities, spreading wrong or misleading information.

Apart from this, such accounts were banned which were violating local laws. 10,707 users filed complaints against the accounts. Out of these, 93% of cases were taken immediate action. Special attention was paid to complaints related to harassment, fraud, or inappropriate behavior.
