Tomorrow, October 27 (Monday), is the third day of Chhath Puja. Sandhya Arghya, offering water to the setting sun, is important. In the evening, all devotees, including those fasting, gather at the ghat to perform the ritual. Schools will remain closed in many states on this occasion.

  • Bihar – Chhath festival is mainly celebrated in Bihar. On this occasion, all schools and colleges in Bihar will remain closed till October 29. The holiday in the state began on October 18. Schools in Bihar are closed for both Diwali and Chhath Puja.

  • Jharkhand – This state was earlier a part of Bihar. Like Bihar, residents of Jharkhand also celebrate Chhath Puja with great devotion. Therefore, schools, colleges and other educational institutions in Jharkhand will also remain closed tomorrow, 27th October, 2025 (Monday).

  • West Bengal – The state government has announced school holidays for Chhath Puja on October 27 and 28, 2025 and Jagdhatri Puja on October 31. Religious fervor for both festivals is high in this state bordering Bihar.

  • Eastern Uttar Pradesh – Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Ballia, Deoria, Kushinagar, and Sonbhadra are all parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Chhath Puja is also celebrated in most of these districts. There is no official notice of school closure, so please contact the school.

  • Delhi- Delhi, the capital of the country, is home to people from all over the country. Every festival is celebrated here with great enthusiasm. People from Bihar who have settled here celebrate Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghat in Delhi. The Delhi government has declared a public holiday for Chhath Puja.
