Preparations for the fourth match are now going on in the five -Test series between India and England, which will be played in Manchester from Wednesday. India is behind 1-2 in the series and the team may have to make some important changes to win this match. A big question is that who will get a chance in the playing XI in place of Andhra Pradesh all -rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Nitish Reddy has scored 45 runs in two Tests so far and has taken three wickets. However, he showed a little glow in the Lord’s Test, but he may have to sit out due to lack of constant impressive performance. Three names are leading to take their place:
1. Shardul Thakur Will be replacement
Shardul Thakur is an experienced all -rounder and is considered to be the best suitable for replacing Nitish Reddy. However, he did not make any special contribution with the bat in the Headingley Test and in bowling, he did not have much over. Nevertheless, they are strong contenders in terms of experience and utility.
2. Anshul Kamboj – Young enthusiasm and all -round capacity
Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj was recently called as the team cover. He has done well in domestic cricket and also scored a half -century against England Lions, playing for India ‘A’. If India wants to give a chance to the young player, then Kamboj can be made debut.
3. Strategy of Dhruv Jurael and Anshul Kamboj
Another option may be to include Dhruv Jurlel in the playing XI to strengthen the team batting and give Anshul Kamboj a chance instead of Akash Deep in the bowling department. This will make India’s bowling attack look something like this: Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Anshul Kamboj (Debut), Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.
Hurt worries increased trouble
Team India is already struggling with the injuries of many players. Rishabh Pant, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are not available for selection due to fitness problems. In such a situation, captain Rohit Sharma and team management will have to be careful in choosing the playing XI.
It remains to be seen in which direction the coach Gautam Gambhir and the captain go – give a chance to experienced Shardul or young Kamboj, or enter the field with a balanced combination.
