With this, the security officers can see whether there is any hidden electronic device or bomb-like component inside the laptop. Whether other things kept in the bag are safe and clearly visible or not. In this way, this process is done to ensure the safety of the passengers and not to harass the passengers.
Laptops contain lithium-ion batteries which can explode if exposed to pressure or heat. When bags are kept close together during security check, it is important to keep electronic items separate so that there is no short circuit or increase in temperature.
With the development of technology, new generation CT scan X-Ray machines are now being installed in some countries which show a 3D view of everything inside the bag. With the help of these machines, passengers do not need to take out their laptops or electronic devices. However, in many countries including India, this facility has not yet been implemented at all airports.
The process of removing the laptop from the bag at the airport may seem like a hassle, but it is a very important step for your safety and that of other passengers. This ensures that no dangerous object or explosive device can escape security checks.
