Under this treaty, only the US, Russia, Britain, China and France have the right to possess nuclear weapons because they are the countries that conducted nuclear tests before the treaty came into force.

How did India and Pakistan make weapons?
The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty allows only the US, Russia, Britain, China and France to possess nuclear weapons.
