An event ‘Meri Sikhi Meri Idghan’ was organized at the GHG Academy, an educational institution run here by the immigrant Punjabi Malli brothers. Under this program organized to connect the youth with their glorious history, to introduce them to the rich heritage, to connect them with Gurbani and moral values, Academy Chairman Gurmail Singh Malhi, Director Baljit Singh Malhi, Prin. Under the leadership of Ramanjot Kaur Grewal, with the efforts of teachers Harbhajan Singh and Harvinder Singh, a competition was organized for students in a total of 38 centers.
In the first group in the competition, Rajveer Singh village Dodhar won first (1 lakh cash), Ramanpreet Kaur village Jhoran second (60 thousand nadak), Gurwinder Singh village Jangpur won third (40 thousand), Mehkdeep Kaur village Ferozepur fourth (20 thousand ) and Mahakpreet Kaur village Husanpur won the fifth (10 thousand) position. From the second group, Gurleen Kaur village Rumi won first, Amanjot Kaur village Malak second, Arshpreet Kaur village Khandur third, Tanisha Kaur Khandur fourth and Mahekpreet Kaur village Sodhiwal and Sukhmanpreet Kaur Jagraon jointly won fifth place.
