WhatsApp users using Apple iPhone will now be able to make the app default calling and messaging app. With this, there will be no need to switch to Apple’s phone or Iimsage app to call users or send messages.
Popular instant messaging platform has rolled out this feature only for WhatsApp beta users of iOS. This feature can be used in the 25.8.10.74 version of the app. The information about when this feature will come for Android users has not been given at the moment.
Users will be able to make international calls without extra charge This feature will be beneficial for users who mostly interact on WhatsApp. Creating a default app to WhatsApp will save time, chat will be more safe and users will be able to make international calls without giving any extra charge.
Apart from this, photos, videos and documents can also be sent directly from WhatsApp. These features will also be used only in the beta version of the iPhone users app, but soon it will be rolled out for everyone.

- Sticker Pack Sharing: You can share your favorite sticker pack in a direct chat with friends. Choose ‘Sand’ by tapping on three dots on the side of the sticker pack.
- Built-in Dial Pad (iOS): The iPhone users can now make calls in the call tab using a dial pad from the ‘plus’ icon without saving the number. This feature was earlier in beta, now rolled out for all.
- Ai studio: You can talk to various AI personality through Meta AI chat window. This feature makes chatting fun and interactive.
- Message with forwarding: Android users can now add custom messages while forwarding, which has made it easier to give context.
- Voice message transcript: Voice notes can be converted into text. This feature is currently available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, and it is being gradually being transported to all users.
- Music on status: In March 2025, WhatsApp launched the feature of adding music to the status. Like Instagram, you can choose a song according to your mood and put it in the status.
