Under this campaign, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, Panchayat assistants, ration dealers, school teachers, village heads, secretaries and public information center operators will assist in making cards and create awareness among the public. Cards can be generated by downloading the Ayushman Bharat app, applying online, referring beneficiaries to listed hospitals, or calling the toll-free number.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Narendra Kumar said that under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, each family is provided free treatment up to ₹5 lakh in designated hospitals. Under this scheme, a separate card is created for each family member, which can provide benefits of up to ₹5 lakh to the individual or the entire family.
As per this scheme, all Antyodaya card holders, i.e. households with pink and red ration cards, are eligible. Additionally, all persons above 70 years of age and all government employees of Uttar Pradesh are eligible. Other ration card holders can check their eligibility online and get the card.
Aadhaar card and ration card are required to get the card. Beneficiaries can check their eligibility through the Ayushman Bharat app, by calling toll-free numbers, by visiting the nearest listed hospital, or with the help of a public information center operator.
