‘My wife’s answer is not’ flop: Why Sridevi-Akshay’s film fail?

New Delhi. There was a film in the year 2004 in which there were two big stars of that time, but if you do not even remember the name of this film, then there will be no big deal in it. No one came to know when this film came and when it went away from theaters. Despite being two big stars, the film was not able to bring the audience to the theater and it is probably the first film that was released in theater without climax. This film is Sridevi and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Meri Biwi’s answer’.

The director of this film Pankaj Parashar still considers Ram Gopal Varma due to its flop. Recently, the film’s director Pankaj Parashar while talking with ‘Friday Talkies’ said that Ram Gopal Varma was behind the flop of the film Mary’s wife and if he did not force Sridevi, the film would not have been so bad. Due to his advice and repeated force, such a fate of the film was done.

Parashar says, ‘One film and came, Sir Mary’s wife, she did not answer for a long time. What I said, every picture is the horoscope. It was going well that my friend Ram Gopal Varma, I consider him completely guilty because he continued to say to Sridevi, ‘Lose weight, lose weight, lose weight’.

Sridevi’s film was postponed for many years

He further explains how ‘my wife’s answer’ was closed for so many years because of Ram Gopal Varma. He says that Sridevi had gone to the CAS court diet to lose weight after coming under the pressure of Ram Gopal Varma. She says, she went to the crash course, and when she used to do it and she stopped salt, BP would fall and she fainted. So she fainted and hit the table and she remained unconscious for 20 minutes and one tooth broke.

He further says, ‘So our whole schedule went. Otherwise, the film was running anyway because she hit her face and due to this it derailed. Financer went, the manufacturer died. All these things happened, yes. So I left the film, what to do? ‘

It was an unexpected turn in a project which should have been a hit. The film had strong possibilities with Akshay Kumar and Sridevi, and a story that fans of both stars could be liked. But due to frequent delays, lost funding and even the death of the manufacturer, ‘My wife’s answer’ was canceled for years.

The film ‘Meri Biwi’s answer’ remained hanging for years and finally when it was released without climax, the audience did not notice it. The film was in a bad state at the box-office. It is one of the most flop films of Sridevi and Akshay Kumar’s career.
