Hasin Jahan demanded an increase in his alimony and now the Supreme Court has issued a notice to Mohammed Shami and the West Bengal government. Let us know the whole matter. On a petition filed by Hasin Jahan, wife of Mohammed Shami, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, Mohammed Shami, and the West Bengal government, in which she has demanded an increase in the maintenance allowance for herself and her daughter. Hasin Jahan has challenged the Calcutta High Court’s order awarding him a maintenance allowance of ₹1.5 lakh per month and ₹2.5 lakh per month for his daughter. They argue that this amount is insufficient for current needs. They argued in court that Mohammed Shami is a central contracted player for India and should be given a higher allowance considering his income from IPL and brand endorsements.
The Supreme Court has sought responses from Mohammed Shami and the West Bengal government within four weeks of the preliminary hearing. After that, the next hearing date will be fixed. This case is part of a long-running dispute between Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan. The two got married in 2014, but in 2018, Hasin Jahan filed a case against Shami alleging domestic violence and extramarital affairs. Mohammed Shami denied all the allegations and said that it was a personal conspiracy against him.
In an interview, Mohammed Shami said, “I have left the past behind. Now my focus is only on cricket.” He also said that the controversies have made him mentally stronger and he now only wants to focus on the game and his performance. This notice of the Supreme Court is now being considered as the beginning of a new legal process in this old dispute.
