The Ministry of Health of the country has said that 170 cholera cases have been registered till 6 pm local time.

The outbreak has now spread to two additional municipalities in addition to the capital province, Luanda. According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, the outbreak of cholera is increasing after the first case was reported on Tuesday. Emergency procedures have been implemented in the country.

Angola’s Minister of Health Sylvia Lutukuta has issued a statement. Emergency plans have been activated to deal with cholera outbreaks in the country, particularly in its epicenter, Kakuako municipality in Luanda province.
